Hi Fonty, thanks for that comprehensive reply. It does make sense.
Regarding point 4, I can't find the original article I read, but the argument was that fat cells can only expand to a certain size, so if you eat to much, more will be created. The same article also said that once created, they don't die. However while doing a Google search a few moments ago, I came across contradictory results. For example this article states:
"Recently, research in fat cell physiology has unearthed a process called fat cell apoptosis -or fat cell death, initiated by fat-cell death receptors found on the surface membranes of fat cells. Early studies show when fat cells are deprived of fat, they shrink and eventually die."
Now that makes sense! Another article said that fat cells die and are re-created all the time. So perhaps it's time I simply ignored the "experts", and just trusted my body, and common sense.
