When people fast to completion, I know the body has run out of resources and tells you to eat again. But I am not sure exactly when this occurs, so...
Assuming they have enough stored resources, does everyone have a constant weight that equals fasting to completion, eg 5% body fat?
If someone has had a poor diet, would their fast reach completion at a weight higher than what they could have got to if they had more stored nutrients?
If yes to 2, does this mean that someone may reach the completion point at, say, 70Kg due to low nutrients, then eat well for a month, start another fast, and reach the completion point at a lower weight, say 60kg?
Now here's an awkward one. I have read that the human body has a fixed number of fat cells from birth, but will make more fat cells in the case of extreme or prolonged obesity. Question is can fasting, especially fasting to completion reduce the number of these fat cells again? I believe mainstream medicine says no, but common sense tells me the body will reduce the number of fat cells if it doesn't need them, and I think a fast to completion is sending a clear message that the extra fat cells are no longer needed.
Please correct me if I am wrong on any medical issues, but the above is based on knowledge gained what I have Googled.
