90031, Hello, You said you have completed numerous Water Fasts and quite a few twenty-four hour dry fasts. Did you feel the twenty-four hour dry fasts to be beneficial? I have been trying to Water Fast for about a year now and I just don't seem to have the "will-power" go very long. It has been one failure after another. I get past the one or two day point and give in. In a strange way, trying to fast has revealed to me just how little self-discipline I have, I have always known I don't have much self-discipline, but the fasting has really made me realize it is something I have got to deal with. It is something I am trying to overcome, but I am not doing too well!

The longest Water Fast I completed was four days. I was starting to really feel as if the energy was coming back after three days of feeling awful. But then I gave up. I completed a twenty-four hour dry fast two days ago. I would like to do the alternating water / dry fast as you are considering, but I am afraid I would give up again. So I thought if I had a day of food in between I might be able to keep going. I have come to realize this is mostly mental.

If you don't mind my asking, since you have done numerous fasts, does the will-power get stronger over time, where you don't let the thoughts of; "I think I will have something to eat, and just start this up again tomorrow" get to you? It just seems like there is a mental hurdle I am trying to jump and not having any success at it. Thank you for your comments.
