Re: Breaking fasts

A three day fast you should break properly, not with steak, meat, or pasta.

Luckily, your fast was short and can be broken with juice, followed with a salad and/or some fruit.

You could break the fast early or you could just lie to your friends and say that you're not hungry or you've eaten already. Telling the truth is often best but not everyone has understanding friends or is as mentally tough against peer pressure.

In general, this is just another reason people should start with short fasts (1 or 3-day fasts). You get benefit from it but you also learn how to manage longer fasts, especially when it comes to social obligations.

I have Italian inlaws who LOVE to eat, believe me I know about social obligations. Not eating is a sin and makes Mamma mad (mange mange), lol. But, knowing that, I work my social obligations around my fasts and I plan ahead.

Good luck on your next fast.
