Re: new to water fasting, please need advice
Hello #91497,
water-drinking should be according to thirst, as any overload will burden the organs of elimination such as the kidneys; excess water will also inhibit the elimination of toxins which is therefore counterproductive.
Supplements are not recommended as this will interfere with reaching true ketosis (the fasting state) and will be a lop-sided way of feeding the body.
Exercise is ok if you do not have any serious health-issues, where maximum rest will achieve more, but is fine (within limitations) for reducing excess weight, which doesn't seem to be the case at 130lbs.
Water or dry fasting is the ultimate way of detoxing the body par excellence.
Weight-loss is usually more at the beginning of the fast, and especially so if you are overweight, in fact the more overweight a person is, the more they tend to lose at the beginning.
Average weight-loss steadies down to approx' one pound per day, but this will depend on many variables such as your activity levels, where, for example, the more active you are, the more weight you will lose, and vica-versa. Nervous and anxious fasters tend to lose more weight for these reasons also.
It is also true to say that if the flesh is soft or "flabbyish" rather than hard and solid, more weight and flesh will be lost for this reason. So if your activity levels are "lowish" and you rest for much of the time, I would think you will lose about 7 to 8
pounds in weight.
