yeah course it is! no doubt about it! a fast is only suitale short term! well, okay so water weight is the weight in water that your body is holding on to. but when you are retaining water, when you lose it, it does make a difference to your appearnce i.e. makes you appear less puffy/ fat etc etc. only by like maybe 5lbs max! i mean thats not a proper figure or anything, im just tryoing to say it will make a noticeable difference to appearance but not a huge deal! so what is wrong with losing a bit of initial water weight and not retaining as much water? and surely when you start a diet and exercise plan, you also lose water weight- same as fasting!
but no diet/ exercise plan makes you lose so much weight in such a short space of time does it? and i just wondered why that was? i like anglynn's theory, that it is because your body is working overtime to get rid of the toxins etc, and i could quite believe that, so apart from water weight, is there any other reason why fasting is so much more effective?
