I have had severe asthma since I was little, but I have it very much under control right now.
Here are some suggestions:
1) Milk products make me very phlegmy and wheezy. I am hesitant to tell you to go off milk products, since I know that there might be many helpful vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc. in milk that you will be feeding your baby. But if it's a tradeoff between using powerful, harmful steroids and maybe decreasing your milk intake a little, it might be worth it.
2) There's a whole website dedicated to the resarch by Dr. Batmanghelidj saying that DEHYDRATION contributes a lot to asthma. Not only that, but you need to replace your salt levels with natural Sea Salt (not table salt ). You can read more about it here: http://watercure2.org/
Hope that helps! I myself have taken Advair and I don't like it's side effects either. But if you gotta breathe, you gotta breathe. Hopefully these tips will help you accomplish that though.
