Re: steamed vs. raw
Thanks,
I like salads, peppers, lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot etc. Just root vegetable other than carrots i would not want to eat raw, i would rather casserole. My objection is though, just not all the time, i like some cooked, and i'm still going to eat some meat and fish, cooked oats, and grains. I was glad to read, you eat some wholegrain bread. But salad for lunch and dinner, is this every day?
Yes, i am very up on my oils and fats. I gave up margarine ages ago. I only ever use, butter, coconut oil or olive oil. Olive oil as part of salad dressing. Mainly coconut to fry, roast etc.
I would rather stir fry or steam broccoli and cauliflower, as you mentioned, which i do presently. In fact i steam most veg unless i casserole them. I have always preferred hot foods and drinks, with a salad, i like wholegrain rice, and say cooked chicken or fish. I read some of that forum where they were debating omnivores or herbivores, i used to be vegetarian, but not raw. I don't know what we are, but my instinct is to eat a bit of meat and fish now. I was impressed about that person's mother that went on a raw diet for 6 months and cured liver disease though. In homeopathy there are types, people that prefer cold and some that prefer hot food and drinks, so i do think it depends on our physiology.
I read it is more important to eat vegetables than fruit. Apparently a couple of fruits a day is all that is required, while the majority should be a variety of vegetables.
