Everyone is different - what work for one may be absolutely ineffective for another.
As for antibiotics, they work in several ways:
- kill the acne bacteria
- produce a separate anti-inflammatory effect

Solodyn (minocycline) is very effective for acne, but in rare cases may cause serious side effects if used for a long time (more than 12 months).
