Re: The myths of herpes

A holistic approach to life is important, and the reason why alternate health systems exist and can be successful. But to completely ignore modern medicine is at your peril.

Just because something says something in a book, doesn’t mean is a fact, true, or real, depending on your language. Many people forget that Science is based on the peer reviewed system which is basically that “I can’t say something is true unless you can prove it”. So all the claims by virologists that there is a Herpes virus, that it becomes a permanent part of your body, for as long as you live, is based on evidence that anyone can prove, or disprove, for themselves. If you want to dismiss Science due to Conspiracy theories or religion, well then you shouldn’t drive a car, watch a TV, fly in a plane or cook with a microwave; it is the same system that allows technology. Faith and hope has never produced anything tangible.

As for how this virus expresses itself, that is variable. The person I received it from, she has had no symptoms for over 15 years, and a recent HSV2 specific test came up negative. She has the virus, but its expression seems to have been inactivated. As for me, it gets me when I’m run down.

It is irresponsible to present ideas as facts regarding HSV, as there are many newly diagnosed people that are so freaked out, they will cling to any hope of escape from HSV hell. We all know hopes companion is disappointment.

The bad parts are that you will always be HSV positive. You will always have a chance to pass this on to others. But it can be managed, there is medication that has an impact from alternative to pharmaceutical, this could also be an opportunity to improve on your lifestyle to be healthier in general.

Be responsible and express ideas, try them and see if a widespread effect can be reached. But baseless claims that look too good to be true, usually are.
