Re: Exercise to reach ketosis quicker.
Hi Bling,
interesting concept which is along the lines of Dr Al Sear's PACE program.
Anaerobic means “without air" or "without oxygen." : it is supposed to be a short lasting, high intensity activity, where the demand for oxygen from the exercise exceeds the oxygen supply. It relies on energy sources that are stored in the muscles and is not reliant on oxygen from breathing air.
This is what Al Sears has to say about it................
"The exercises usually last 10 minutes, and never more than 15... And here's the best part: because PACE (anaerobic) uses short bursts of activity, followed by short periods of rest, your 10-minute "workout" doesn't involve any more than 3 or 4 minutes of actual exertion."
In other words his PACE programme, or short periods of intense Anaerobic exercise, will burn more glucose and glycogen from the body because of the lack of oxygen, but the important part really is the astounding weightloss.......somtimes 20
pounds in only one week. This is indicative of the body entering ketosis more quickly as evidenced by the amount of weight lost.
Ketosis means fat burning; the more quickly you enter this state of nutrition then the more fat you burn.
So yes: I would agree with your poster.
