Awesome John great fast! I think you are missing the miracle right in front of your eyes though. You have just gone without food for 40 days while still smoking and keeping up a heavy work schedule and wonder why you're feeling a bit tired! :)
I believe many fasters here would LOVE to have your constitution. You are wrong in thinking that cooked foods digest more easily than raw foods. In some cases they may slush their way through your body quicker but digestion is certainly not aided by cooking. The enzymes in raw foods, and the natural water content both aid the digestion, whereas the water absorbed unnaturally through cooking can just have the effect of making the food heavier and more likely to bog down in the system. There is no question that a raw carrot is far better for you in every way than a cooked one. There is no need to force the change to raw quickly though, take it at a pace you feel comfortable with- cooked carrots are still a lot better than most other 'foods' around.
Don't think you have to eat the raw food on it's own though, you can dip it in nut butters. They can be made from raw nuts or just mixed up from peanut butter or cashew or almond butter etc that you buy- the Sugar free ones!- just add water to them till they are a runny dip consistancy and dip your veggies in them. Yummo.
Anyway, congrats on the fast and good luck with your refeeding and giving up the smokes.
