Schulzes is 100% organic (and other info)...Re: Supplements
...but it does have LOTS of nutritional yeast (which is great for low/no meat-dairy eaters because of the B vitamins). Schulze had folks doing a strict vegan diet for healing, so they really needed the extra B vitamins. I prefer mine with less yeast (Red Star Nutritional Yeast - a staple for vegetarians/vegans for decades...and it's 'non active' -the yeast are dead- so it's can't complicate candida/other), so I buy the ingredients and make my own (easy and SO MUCH cheaper).
Schulzes original Superfood recipe (I do not care for his new 'updated' version/recipe) is equal parts all ingredients, in a base of 50% nutritional yeast. I make ours with equal parts everything except the yeast, and put in two parts of yeast (rather than half the container). I've had lots of folks try it and say they like the taste better (and that they can really 'feel' the difference with the higher level of the other ingredients).
He uses:
Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Alfalfa, Purple Dulse, Beet Root, Lemon peel, Orange peel, Rosehips, Spinach leaf, & Spirulina. You can get them all here:

The cheapest place on the net for the yeast is here:

If you make your own, remember, it's equal PARTS of each ingredient NOT equal "weight". So if you ordered 1/4 - 1/2 pound of every ingredient, when you mixed it together, you'd measure 1/2 cup (or whatever measurement you choose) of each item, and then add as much yeast as you'd like (like I mentioned, I add two parts yeast, and one part everything else). If you order your own and make it, the price will drop from $30+ "retail" per tub to less than $15.00 per tub. And since I take double doses daily (two tubs each per month) that dropped our cost from $120 a month to less than $60.00...I dunno about anybody else, but $60 COUNTS in my world.
There IS one seller on the net of their own Superfood who has attacked Schulzes Superfood because they say (actually accuse strongly), that the yeast he uses contains MSG. I undertook a SERIOUS research project on that, and came up with ZERO evidence that it's true (in fact, I had my cousin's husband, a pharmacist, check my research to make sure I was 'chemically correct', and I was :)...YAY!)
Schulze recommends putting fruit, fruit juice and water/ice with the Superfood in a blender and making a smoothie thing. We use a banana, a cup of apple cider, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of ice. They're now WONDERFUL (but sometimes it does take a while to get used to them). I've read so many stories of folks who couldn't stand it at first, and then, the healthier they became the more their taste changed and when they tried it again, they loved it. That's exactly what happened to us. (It'd be even sweeter and "kid yummier" if it was made with organic grape juice - grape juice'll mask the flavor of almost any tincture or syrup, no matter how 'yucky' :)
'Hope that gave you some good 'superfood for thought' :)
