Juice fasting means juicing fresh fruits and veggies. It requires a certain amount of investment (lots of folks love the Juiceman products, should be able to get a decent juicer under $50)... you have to shop, clean, prep and juice every day... I make up a day's supply and keep cold air tight in canning jars...
Daily intake of juice should be 3-6 cups. You need fresh juice for the LIVE enzymes they contain. Even the "organic" stuff at walmart has been pasteurized to kill the live stuff so the juice will keep forever. In juice fasting, you want to bathe your internal tissues with live, fresh juices and lots of pure water to help your body cleanse, detox and heal. It takes effort and investment! There are many good books out on this subject, including recipes.
The blender does just that. It blenderizes! It does not juice. juicing means you remove fiber to allow your digestive system down time to cleanse, detox and heal. Your digestive process needs to halt in order to allow this internal house cleaning.
You really should read up on fasting before undertaking the process; there is lots of good info on the Internet, books available etc.
Tell you what. If you want to do a cleanse, but feel overwhelmed by the juicing process, check out the Master Cleanse. It is a very popular mono-juice fast for very good reasons. It is extremely effective, simple, relatively cheap, and the instructions are clear and basic. You should be able to pick up the booklet by Burroughs at any decent health food outlet, or just go to the Master Cleanse Forum here at curezone and read the FAQs. No juicers or blenders involved, just freshly squeezed lemon juice, grade B maple syrup and a little cayenne. Voila! Tip: READ all the information, and scope through some posts before asking redundant questions. People are very supportive, but you should do your homework.
You really should be able to get Sea Salt . Try gourmet sections; it's a popular condiment. Shoot for salt with no additives. Master-Cleanse protocol includes a daily Salt Water Flush. After four years of dedicated cleansing I hit on this EASIER method of doing the SWF, which I share with you here:
ON AN EMPTY STOMACH first thing in the AM:
Dissolve 2 tsp. uniodized Sea Salt in ONE cup drinkably hot water
Have THREE cups fresh water standing by
CHUG as much salt mixture as you can, chase with fresh. Chug and chase until ALL water is consumed. VIOLA! In about an hour the entire quart will exit stage south, carrying all before it! Warning: Not for the commute! Do this early or only on weekends when you are home.
