I don't trust your doctor. Can you get another one? The viral load test costs the same as the viral existence test here. Qualitative vs quantitative. There's a good explanation here:http://www.hemophilia.ca/en/5.1.2.php The problem is you could have a massive reduction in viral load (indicating the efficacy of what you are doing), but the qualitative test you took would not indicate any differently whether you had a viral load of 10,000,000 or a viral load of 10,000.

I would definitely not ignore the way you feel. I don't know how things work in the UK, but in the US there are avenues one can take to order my own tests as long as I'm willing to pay for it. I think the tests are about $400. My general practitioner will order them for me, though, and it gets submitted through insurance.

Thanks for posting your progress. I plan to have a test done probably in about 2 weeks and will post my full experience and results after that.
