Question for Aharleygyrl OR ANYONE(sensative crowned tooth)

i have a tooth that was cut down and now has a crown on it. it is very sensative to the touch and i have a constant mild nerve pain escpecially when chewing or when something touches it. the dentist said i may need a root canal but i obviously do not want one. i already had three removed 13 years ago.

the nerve pain is bothersome but bearable for now-- yeti fear it will only get worse or more intense as time passes.

what can i do to eliminate the nerve pain? what are other options other than a root canal?
