Re: DOUBLE o/t

I've already had my say on this so no need to rehash it. There was a lot more said on my part obviously than what little you've repeated here and you didn't even quote me by the looks of it so not sure if they are my exact words or not. Regardless though I don't claim to be scientific any more than I claim to be religious. To claim both you are in my opinion being a bit hypocritical in essence since Science can certainly not back up your religious claims. Nor can it back up our fasting claims very well since it ignores them, hence one of my major reasons for not having much 'faith' in science, or at least medical science, either.

The people who misbehaved in the name of God were doing so on their maybe misguided view of his words, presumably from the bible. Your dogmatic interpretation is exactly the kind of attitude that scares me from a historical point of view. What scares me is that once you leave the path of taking responsibility only for your own spirituality and take on the spiritual wellbeing of others as your own personal duty to reconcile, almost anything, historically, seems justifiable in bringing that goal of spiritual purity about. Things like crusades, jihads etc.

But that was not my main point. My main point was that you don't own the rights to the bible. Your interpretation of it is not the only one. And you have no right on this forum to confront others with your interpretation of it when the way you choose to go about that confrontation is seen to be by most if not all here as unsupportive. No matter what your god is telling you this is a forum for fasting support and I believe the type of support you are offering is offensive and not wanted. Go knock on doors and try to save people, or as I've said before offer to support people your way privately and if they choose to let you berate them for their lack of enthusiasm for the words of the lord as you see them so be it. But don't use this forum as your platform.

It is no crime to be sensitive, nor is it at all silly. Maybe it's part of my mental illness that I am so sensitive does that give you the right to trivialise my feelings or lulu's? I would certainly have been offended if I was one of the christians you were accusing of not praying hard enough. We're silly? We need to grow up? This is a forum for people to come who need SUPPORT to fast. This is no small thing for many of us and many emotions can be involved. Our emotions are not trivial or of no consequence, for myself it is my very emotions that keep me from extending the length of my fasts beyond a few days these last few months.

You are welcome to your opinion that the fact that I am godless is the cause of all my woes but that opinion has nothing to do with this forum. It is just off topic. How is it offensive to tell you that? That is just logic, you're off topic and we are telling you.

Andrew.
