Re: New and wondering-o/t

A bit off topic, but what should you be eating when trying to build muscle. Seeing you seem to be into gym work. I ask because my 15 year old son has started going to the gym, he is not really supposed to use the weights, although has some at home, but does, he is nearly sixteen. He is 6ft 2" and 12stone (168 lb)a big lad for his age. He had a medical there, and was told he needed just over 3,000 kcal.

He is always hungry, and wants me to devise an eating plan for him. The normal things that spring to mind, are protein and carbs. After what Fonty said, i'm even more confused what to feed him. Bearing in mind, at his age, he is not going to eat a perfect diet. I brought him up without soda/fizzy drinks, and he will eat salad, vegetables and fruit. Everyone has different views on this, whether it is complete protein or not, he will require more protein, right?? Even he has heard that too much protein is not good though.

Any websites you can direct me to that has up to date nutritional advice for building muscle.
