Re: ok I have been hovering but, could use some wisdom..please!O/T
Thanks golthing. I still don't agree with your hijacking threads with your interpretation of God's words. I was brought up a Christian and have read my fair share of the Bible and rejected much of it's teachings. I have rejected more so the many actions taken by people who claim to be acting on it's behalf as they ravage across countries leaving a trail of blood behind- just for example. So I'm not on unfamiliar territory at all but have a good knowledge of the Bible and Christianity.
I do have a mental illness but didn't realise that unconditional tolerance is a symptom of one. I'll add it to my list of symptoms then. Silly me I thought that was a good thing.
What I don't understand is why you think that your version of Christianity is the be all and end all. But I guess I don't get that of any version of any religion. God has as many names and versions as there have been people to draw breath on this planet it seems but each person who follows any one of those versions seems blinkered into believing that their version is the right one. Anyway I digress from an already digressed topic. :)
If I went to a Christian forum and told them they were fasting wrong I would expect to be moderated for bringing non Christian opinions into their forum. I don't think your version of support for fasting is very supportive at all when you let your spiritual beliefs interfere with it. And as I said other people can be Christians and follow the bible and NOT want that kind of support either, no matter what you think the bible tells you to do on the matter. The way you do it comes across as offensive and you're telling people how to be a better Christian is just as bad as if you were telling someone how to be a better parent. Offering support with their spiritual wellbeing privately would be far more appropriate the way you do it. That's my opinion anyway.
Andrew.
