Re: Natural Hygiene/ Food Combining - any experience?
Thanks for asking this question! I would love to share my experiences of food combining, since it has been the most helpful piece of dietary advice I ever found.
I have been eating according to the rules of food combining (as recommended by Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw in their book Life Extension) since the mid-1970's. I have had excellent results with this way of eating, and for 30 years never have suffered any digestive problems whatsoever. I don't have IBS, acid reflux, indigestion, gas, constipation or diarrhea - ever.
Additionally, although I am 54, I am told I appear to be in my late 30's. I don't know if this is because of the food combining, or just lucky genetics, but food combining is the only truly long-term thing I've done for my health.
I have noticed that, on those rare occasions when I'm required to eat a miscomb meal consisting of carbs plus protein, I cannot digest it. My body will not accept the miscomb without letting me know eating this way is wrong, wrong, wrong! My preference is to eat only one food at a time.
These days, I don't eat grains or sugar, and I've never drunk soft drinks. I usually eat fruit, or have a
Master-Cleanse lemonade, in the morning; later I will eat a salad or protein meal. I don't like to eat anything else after a protein meal.
After so many years I don't even think about this way of eating being restrictive; I just know it has freed me from the digestive maladies that plague so many people of my age.
I hope this helps and that you will try food combining - it takes a while to appreciate the benefits, but for me they are legion!
