cheap drug with potential to kill most cancers not being looked into by pharmaceutical companies

Sorry guys, a little off-topic, but I posted this because it's in New Scientist and therefore must have at least some foundation in reality ;-) .

I just wonder how a discovery like this ties into our theories of cancer as a fungus and / or the fact that Miracle-Mineral-Supplement might be able to combat cancer.
