I had a very similar experience when I went to get tested at a local clinic recently. The ignorance displayed by the technician doing the tests was extremely disturbing. If I had been ignorant I would have left the clinic very happy about being told that I don't have herpes because I've never had a 12" by 12" area of blisters covering my entire pelvic region. I was told there are no type specific tests, no western blot, no antibodies associated with hepes... With that I exclaimed rahter loudly "It's a virus, are you telling me there are no antibodies associated with a virus?!" With all do respect everything you are stating right now counters what I've studied about this disease". She offered me a pamphlet on STD's with almost a full paragraph covering herpes. I had already told her I had read four books on the subject one of which cost me fifty dollars. I apologized for getting disturbed; I gave her a look like she needed to go do some homework. She looked at me like she knew she needed to do some homework Then I left.
If you are not getting good service by all means get up walk out and go somewhere else.
