I hang for a minute or two, the rock for a couple of minutes, then hang, then rock. I think the alternating motions are good for the whole body including the lymph. By the way, do not start by hanging upside down. Even a tilt of thirty degrees will begin to help you stretch. My favorite angles are between 45 and 60 degrees. I rarely go upside down.
