Re: Almost Day 4 of Fast and Weight Gain..or little loss

In two weeks you should lose the weight you need to. You can drink too much water and that could be the problem, just drink according to your thirst, some fasters suggest to drink a lot of water but there is no need to do that and it can be detrimental. Otherwise something else could be going on, where your body is using stores to build up some damaged tissue inside you so the weight is just being redistributed for the moment. Your body is getting nothing from outside though and needs about a pound a day worth of energy to function, so you will certainly start seeing the results you want soon.

It isn't dangerous to do workouts while you are fasting, and it can be quite beneficial. But you need to listen to your body and only do what you are capable of. I wouldn't suggest that if you're feeling tired and shaky right now to go and do a hard workout at a gym around lots of people for example- too much pressure to keep up. If you want to do one in front of a dvd in the privacy of your own home where you can rest or stop when you need to then that would be fine. When you workout while fasting you just need to allow plenty of time on the other side of the workout to rest up. For example I was fasting on the weekend and did an aerobox workout from a tape. I lasted about 35 minutes of the 60 and that was enough for me. I did my own stretches as the workout continued on the tape and then had a lie down. :) It's also good to let the sweat dry on your skin as the cold can be just as stimulating to the detox process as the heat and sweat are.

So hang in there! The first three days are the hardest and some take longer than others to get into full ketosis where the body converts fat cells to energy and to provide nutrients for the vital organs. Your goals are within reach. :)

Take care and good luck.

Andrew.
