I totally agree that depleted levels of Vitamin D play a roll in Depression because Vitamin D helps the body move minerals around to where they are needed. For this reason, the winter "blahs" are more likely caused by the lack of quality sunshine to maintain adequate Vitamin D levels in the body than by the cold weather. Another reason to get enough sunshine is that it helps to prevent breast cancer:
