Re: I thought I was the only one nuts enough to do this
Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you are on a herbal tea diet and are also adding nutrients to your body with your flushes. This won't help your fast, pure water is the only thing you should be taking in, and not too much of that. As well as interfering with the fast physically stimulating the taste sense even with no calorie foods will often cause more cravings throughout the fast, and that's something to avoid believe me!
Real hunger when it comes you will know. You will have no fat left on your body and you will crave for one REAL food, something raw and the need for it will be ongoing, it won't pass after a couple of hours or overnight.
A long term fast should remove intestinal parasites.
Shelton says that the large intestine is STERILISED after 7 days of fasting on water only. So by the time you start eating again you should be able to safely eat fruit again. You could try tomatoes or cucumbers as suggested, which are still more fruit than vegetable because of their high water content but not as high in sugars as most fruits are if you are still concerned, and just introduce fruit slowly and see how you go. Another option would be have vegetable juice to break your fast and again add fruit back slowly watching for any signs that the
parasites are still active. If you don't have a juicer the centrifugal juicers come in very cheap versions nowadays and you will certainly save enough money on food shopping during the fast to be able to justify the expense.
What you are doing is looking after your health. If your family is not supportive of that then they need to change their attitude, pull their fingers out and give you back some of that super support you've obviously been giving them for long enough. No doubt you'll have your super powers back before long but in the meantime it won't hurt them to do a few dishes, help with the washing and vacuuming etc if that's what the issue is. And just tell them I said so! :)
Take care and good luck.
Andrew.
