Dandelion leaves for tea?

I know usually One uses dried leaves for tea, except I have purchased some dandelion leaves for a salad which I did not make. I am beginning a fast tomorrow and rather than throwing the leaves out, I am wondering if I choose to can I put fresh (well semi, now ) leaves in the 'tea holder' and insert in the cup with hot water?
