Re: Still no sound, by MH
It is as simple as rebooting a computer and the computer has no sound card and the sound is turned off and needs turned back on. It has happend to 3 computers over a 10 year period, so I am pretty sure it is the most common problem of a reboot. The drivers and all systems say they are installed and working properly, the computer has a communication problem as a result of the reboot. By mistake I found the page that installs the sound on 1 computer, even though I can't find it again and it is a twin to the computer I am searching the answer for now.
I don't know anymore than that. The computer will say all is proper and working and the problem is that the dos is not turned on for sound, so windows has no sound. It only takes 1 click to restore it, but the manufacturer of computers hides this pae well and they admit in their book, they are not going to tell anyone how to operate the dos in fear the computer will be wrecked.
The computer is a emachines, but the HP does the same thing, it is because they come with no sound card. It takes a sound card or to turn the motherboard sound back on that is turned off as a result of the reboot.
Naturally this may all sound quite stupid to anyone that knows about computers, but that is s far as I got.
