"Externally, CLO2 is used as a disinfection agent. It is well know to destroy anthrax externally. It is used in swimming pools; and to disinfect drinking water. I suspect something else is going on in the colon in contrast to an external medium."
ClO2 is a very powerful anti-pathogenic agent. But it only attacks anaerobic organisms, and substances of an acidic ph. In the case of this study, it attacked the acidic milk sugars, which had been converted into lactic acid through fermentation by the yogurt cultures.
The sodium chlorite does not destroy or attack beneficial flora.
