Yes, if you are okay with stainless steel condensing pipes! A little trick I learned...the filters on those units are expensive, but you can buy a Brita filter and open it up and pour the charcoal into your filter container! The strainer lid pops right off and easily pops back into place!

I would say it is very wise to filter the water that comes out because who knows what heavy metals are picked up as the water pulls through the metal condensor, which is made in CHINA !!!!!

Consider this:
Rain falls to the ground and because it is an empty water it atracts minerals...it picks up inorganic minerals from rocks and soil.
