I have a son that has lousy eating habits, nutritionally speaking, and is having trouble with constipation. He will go from 3-6 days without a BM. Recently he's been goin to the toilet, but not been able to get anything out. I have lectured him on eating the right things, exercise, etc., but he's just stubborn. I told him his options to get things moving again, including MOM, Senna and/or suppositories. I think the blockage is high enough at this point that suppositories would not be effective. I could be wrong.
His concern with laxatives is that it will hit him during class, but he doesn't want anything 'in his butt' as he puts it.
Fondly enough, my wife is a nurse, but doesn't believe in using enemas, but I think it's probably the best option at this point. Any people out there experience in 'selling' the idea using an enema to a know it all nurse/wife and teenager?
