maybe the diagnosis was incorrect.

I got it over 23 years ago and it always follows the same pattern: Aching up and down the thighs, general feeling of flu symptoms, then tiniest of itches in the area which develops within 24 hours into a tiny blisters. I used to pop them in a hot bath with lots of anti-bacterial soap. Then I used the ointment. Usually cut a 5 day problem down to about 3, but I always gave it a wide time-period of caution. And yes, I got a crusty, tiny little scab afterwards.

At 43, I don't really have outbreaks anymore. Seems like the last one was years ago, but I'm still very careful to monitor any itching, ingrown hairs, etc.
