Is this a boil or abscess?

On my back in a crease of love handle I developed a hard lump, hardly any pain at first then a day or two later I noticed pain and softness so I took a sewing needle and slightly punctured it and out skeeted bloody pus. I was sitting on the sink area of the bathroom and it skeeted all on the bathroom mirror that's how far. This happened twice. Then the pain got worse. As I try to turn over in my sleep my skin where the lump was felt like it was ripping. I keep pressing and pressing and got more goo gobs of bloody pus. Then the next day I woke up to find that it had drained quite a bit on my night clothes. The pain is subsiding but a few minutes ago I got about 2 full tablespoons of clear serum and then some bloody pus. I've had this infection about 5 days but I can tell it's healing. What is this an abscess or boil? Tweet
