Re: Opinions? Help? Please?

It took a while before I could stop taking the Lysine without a relapse (like a few months), but I'd call mine cured. It hasn't been an issue since spring. We really don't know if it was an allergic reaction, a viral infection, or an autoimmune issue (basic eczema/dermatitis, just on your lips).

If you're in an area with low humidity (or if the heater is drying out your room air), a humidifier might help. Not a magic cure, but it will help your skin not dry out.

I do think the more you obsess over it the worse it is. Tell your roommates. Why have the stress of trying to hide it? It's not contagious. Try to keep a lip balm with you so if you feel the need to pick you can just balm 'em up. Stay hydrated, sleep, find an outlet for your stress (yoga, running, whatever you enjoy) and do it regularly. Another visit to the derm right now will probably just frustrate you. Try to relax over winter break, you might be cured by next semester.
