There seems to be lots of myth and misconceptions floating around on acidic versus alkaline urine. It's difficult to get a clear idea of what is best against candida.
First, urine is more acidic in the morning, so make sure you check your urine Ph. roughly at the same time every day before thinking you are getting more acidic or alkaline. Some foods and drinks will also have an impact.
Second, according to medical studies found on the net, acidic urine PREVENTS the growth of bacteria, not the opposite, and naturally, in normal people, urine is rather acidic:
If this is correct, I do not see how alkalinizing can work.
I tried eating alkalizing foods, although my urine was within normal range when I started. No appreciable results as far as I am concerned.
At least it does not hurt to try...
