O/T sorta, ghee up the nose

This is sorta o/t...I suppose. It DOES involve oil into an orifice so I thought I'd post here.
I live in a very dry, dusty area(high desert). Since moving here sinuses have been a constant issue. Not necessarily blocked, but DRY nasal passages and sinuses. I've stuck just about everything imaginable up my nose as far as anything soothing, salves, creams, etc.
Ghee works! I read about it in "the complete book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies" by Vasant Lad"...take warm melted ghee, lay down & use an eyedropper to pour into nose. It's very soothing and seems to liquify hardened snot & crusty bits:) !!!
Also, you can take a q-tip and use to coat nostrils...
