--Testimonials--Loosing weight--
By redrooster,
I agree with Moreless, the acidity contributes greatly to hunger.
I have a starch "addiction" as well. Its not a fun thing and unfortunately the
people addicted to starches also tend to desire it in a form that has excessive
fat as well. Pizza for me,but also french fries chips etc... Truly the worst
combination.
Ive had good luck with the carbohydrate addicts diet. Its protocol is two meals
with a protein dish with veggies and one "reward" meal that is anything within
reason as long as its preceded by a large salad with veggies. This has worked
for me in the past, however I believe this is entirely too much protien and have
discontinued using it.
Ive now gone to a grains and veggies diet with ocassional small portions of
chicken that are mixed with the meal : Chinese , Thai etc.... Ive also found
that caffiene is a terrible trigger as it mimicks the same insulin spike as
sugars and starches. One insulin spike leads to the desire for another and so
the cycle goes. the cycle must be broken for a week to really feel better and if
you fall off the wagon its IMPERATIVE that your next meal NOT contain sugar or
starch.
Having said that.... the truth is the that most diet books miss the underlying
cause which is an acid terrain. The acid terrain as pointed out by Moreless is
responsible for the hunger via the nerves in the stomach. The acid terrain
causes our body to think its starving due lack of nutrients, creating hunger.
The acid terrain also provides an excellent medium for the intrusion of
parasites to thrive. The parasites are screaming feed me sugar!
Ive found going "cold turkey" for a week does the trick everytime. NO starch, NO
sugar,No caffiene! Initially its seems like that leaves nothing to eat for the
starch addict because everything they ( I )desire is based on starch sugar or
fat. It goes to show how far off the creators nutritional path youve gone.Once
your off your addiction there is no more desire other than occasional
psychological ones.
Ive read many times about metabolic types, nonsense. Once youve started to get
away from the crap your eating and eat right for a long enough period you
realize metabolic "types" are a self perpetuating phenomena, the body excretes
the types of acids, insulin, enzymes etc.. In relation to what your eating. So a
carnivore eater will desire meat, a vegetarian will desire veggies etc because
thats your body adapting to what it percieves as your circumastances, it does
not know your making BAD chioces.
Once you get back to eating the way your intended to you lose cravings for the
crap and desire what you should eat. You know its what you should eat not
because you are desiring it, but rather because of the way it makes you feel,
which I might describe as an alaline high!
I still struggle with diet but I keep experimenting and learning, Im steadily
losing weight but still havent got that strong desire for veggies.Grains I can
eat all day long. I suppose its a step in the right direction. If someone can
come up with a tasy pizza made entirely from veggies Id be in heaven.
