Re: Steroids

The only well documented supplement that helps to repair liver damage such as that associated with chemotherapy is milk thistle(Silybum marianum). It is routinely prescribed in Germany as an official remedy to assist in the repair of liver cell damage.

The benefits of taking prudent doses of anabolic steroids for medical condition outweighs the negatives; that is the medical approach. Quite perversely they are prescribed for the itchy skin conditions which result from an obstructed liver.

Long term chronic use of anabolic steroids in men and women can cause liver damage with oral anabolic steroids containing a substituted 17-alpha-carbon. Psychiatric changes can occur during use.

Over-use can cause very significant hepatic damage; Grade III and grade IV liver toxicity occurs. Anabolic steroids reduce the livers excretory function. This is particularly so with the steroids containing 17-alpha-carbon.
