:) Vivid dreams can be a great experience. I'm glad it wasn't a nightmare this time. They have actually measured nerve impulses coming FROM the muscles in the body while we are dreaming and many feel it's likely that our muscles as well as our brains contain memories also. And I think that during a fast those messages would come a lot clearer from the body to the brain making those dreams a lot more vivid.
If you're interested in finding out more, read up on lucid dreaming. You can actually stay in the dream state but become aware of the dream and take control of it- changing nightmares to have a good ending or just having fun and doing things like flying. The way you're going it sounds like it would be a good time to give this a go. :)
