is this psoriasis or what???

hi all
my husband has thick dandruff in his scalp and a bit of redness also..it is there for the last one year..but it is itchy also sometimes..he is not keen onto going to doctor..
are there any home remedies,ayurvadic methods to get rid of this..we have tried a number of shampoos..which have not worked..
