Anyone else sensitive to chemicals, metals, plastics or had potential bacterial issues upon insertion?

I am still trying to figure out exactly why some of us react to the Mirena IUD. One woman wrote in that she was fine on birth control pills even ones that contained levonorgestrel but then reacted immediately to the Mirena. Another woman wrote that perhaps it is an auto-immune response or bio-toxin or reaction to bacteria that may have been present or grew on the device that stressed our endocrine systems.

When my Mirena was inserted, the doctor said that she had accidentally slid it out (since the wire got caught) and then she put it back in. She said I would be fine with 3 days of Antibiotics .

The manufacturer info said it was important to not reinsert the device if removed. She also did not check for vaginitus or pap etc which the manufacturer information says needs to occur prior to insertion to clear any bacterial issues.

But thanks to all of you, I had it removed about a month ago and am almost feeling completely back to normal. The anxiety and heart palpitations disappeared immediately, the insomnia disappeared immediately but then returned a little. I have been seeing a naturopath doctor and have been doing many supplements to support my adrenal system and detox the liver. I don't think I would bounce back so quickly without that support. I also think the natural medicine kept me from getting worse over the past 9 months. I still have to get my sleep schedule back on track (liposomal melatonin has been amazing at helping with sleep) and loose 25 pounds to be "myself" again but I definitely feel soooooo much better.

Good luck to all of you and thanks...
