Re: Day 25 WF: Detox or Autointoxication?

Well done 30dayfast, you've already made a great start on your new fasting journey. Keep at it, and if you must eat then remember to break the fast properly and cleanly, this will help you with your next fast if you wish to continue on after your recovery period.
My experience has been that the cleaner you start the easier the first days are, but unless we've led a sheltered existence we will all come up against the tougher detoxifying symptoms at some stage. And certainly I repeat that what you are getting rid of now will be gone next time and you won't have to do it twice. I have done three separate fasts recently, the first one was very difficult and I only got to five days, the second one followed on very quickly with only a few days of fruit only in between.. That second fast was super easy, having done a lot of the early hard work in the previous fast I really cruised through this second fast and had little or no discomfort up to ten days into it. Then the discomfort I did have was unavoidable and had little to do with the fast itself. After having to break this fast I did so properly and ate raw fruit only for one week, then mostly raw salads- 90% raw- for the next week after that. From there still clean from eating raw and fully recovered from the 14 day fast I went straight into another fast. Again that fast was super easy, easier even than the previous one.
So don't be afraid to break a fast that is becoming too difficult. Break it well and you will more than likely find it a lot easier next time. Also the fear is something you need to give yourself time to overcome. If you are afraid to fast for long periods some people say that can be dangerous and actually cause the fast to go bad.
So it is a good idea to build up your fasting times gradually in some cases. As you fast for 2-3 days, then 5-6 days, 1-2 weeks etc you will not only make future fasts easier for yourself having cleaned out a lot of what is holding you back those first few days.. you will also give your mind a chance to relax and trust in the workings of your body during a fast.

Good luck whatever happens. You have the motivation and you have made a great start. And remember you don't have to fast continuously to hold on to what you've already gained. If the fast is too damned hard that's the time to teach your body the right foods to crave and break the fast properly.. then return to fight another day. :)

Cheers,

Andrew.
