I beleive in Rudy's original post he was and I was in a later post talking about this kind of respect "a rigid, mechanical, response to an authoritarian parent or employer or a legalistic "respect" for rules," a blind unfaltering obedience!
Of course all peoples deserve respect of thier personal space and opinions and I would imagine even more so in a teaching situation where the students out number the teacher 30 to 1 there should be a due respect for the one passing out the wisdom or knowledge!
Respect is an ambiguous word and can mean anything from pleasing another to bowing down in blind obedience! In the above scenerio we where refering to the later, I'm sure!
