That's an interesting question

A very good question!

There used to be an expert in Ayurveda here named Andreas Moritz . He was the person I learned about Liver Flushing from his writings. It was an exerpt in his book about swishing oil around your mouth that got me interested. Just one little paragraph really. Nothing exceptional but for some reason it got my attention. That paragraph was the thing that got me on the internet where I read about Dr. Karach. It was that paragraph that started this forum.

Andreas believes that you should only swish for about 5 minutes. I have no idea why. Dr. Karach says that if you don't swish for 20 minutes, you don't get full benefits.

Now I really trust and believe Andreas. But Dr. Karach studied this scientifically. But Andreas was going by 5,000 years of Ayurvedic practice.

In India where this practice is actually posted on the sides of buses, they say to do for 20 minutes.

It's sort of confusing, eh?

Dr. Karach says to pull until the oil goes thin. Perhaps that is five minutes for some, perhaps 20 minutes for others.

Let's think about this. What makes the oil thick? It's our salvia, probably mixed with mucus....yuck. What is in all that thick crap? Well we know it's bacteria and viruses. What happens when the oil gets thin?

So many questions.......

Molly
