Re: A question about long-term water fasting. Is this alright?

I have no idea whether what you are suggesting would work. I have never read of any fasting regime that would come close. My thought is that it would not work that way because after six days of fasting you would need to break the fast with raw foods or juices or both. This would interrupt your body's fast and the body would then expect more food for the next few days, probably making sticking to the fast more difficult. Also the vitamin supplement will probably make you more likely to not end up in a fast but in a starvation diet.
I have a similar amount of weight to lose but it is not necessary to do it all at once. I have set myself smaller goals so as to avoid being disappointed if I don't 'get all the way' in one hit. And my ultimate goal is to be eating less yes, but more important to be eating a minimum of 80% raw food everyday. So far I have done a five day fast which I had to break due to the cleansing being so hard that it was interferring with my being a parent to my kids. I broke that fast on fruit and juices only for 2 and a half days then started what ended up being a 14 day fast, which was again brokenly before I wished it due to an unforeseen rental inspection which required a lot of work and stress and unfortunately I overdid it while still fasting. If I wasn't a parent I could have just laid down and rested for the next three or four days and probably could have continued fasting. But I am a parent and I would not have gotten much parenting done if I'd continued not eating. So I broke the fast properly and after getting through the recovery period eating mostly raw foods- feeling great physically I am fasting again and at the end of my fourth day with no dramas at all so far.
My goal is still the same, around 40-50 days. I have fasted for 30 days before so I know I am capable of this. So my main focus is on the post fast refeeding, sticking to raw foods and not overeating. And though I am pretty sure I can avoid overdoing things for the next 6 weeks or so, but if I do have to break the fast again I will do so properly once again and start again from scratch afterward. When the body comes out of a fast it needs to be fully nourished, not restricted. Then each time it should theoretically be easier due to my body being cleaner each time but still with plenty of reserves to safely continue fasting. So it's just a matter of patience and letting nature take it's course.
I really think that your plan sounds more like an extreme or starvation diet than a fast. I encourage you if you wish to fast to lose your excess weight, a very good idea in itself and very achievable too- first read up on fasting techniques and methods of breaking the fast, then decide from there how best to do it for yourself. I have no doubt that you could fast for long enough to lose all that weight in one fast, if you do the fast properly and are able to put up with the symptoms of toxin release for such a long period, however most would suggest not to take such a drastic path and to set easier goals for yourself, especially if you haven't fasted before and have no professional support for your fast, as is very likely in today's very anti-fasting world.
So my advice would be to read up on fasting techniques, and then start with smaller fasts, working on breaking the fast correctly as much as getting through the fast itself, thereby teaching your body new and healthier foods to crave along the way. You may well take to fasting like a duck to water and all will be fine, but smaller goals are always easier to attain and give you confidence to continue on to bigger and better things. (or in our case smaller and better things hehe)

I wish you all the best in your journey!

Andrew.
