Re: Question about breaking fast-I have a similar Q
Hi user:#83873
"I noticed in the Sheldon article it talked about a "voracious hunger" that lasts for two or more weeks after the breaking of the water fast."
THE VORACIOUS HUNGER THAT
Shelton SPEAKS OF USUALLY ONLY OCCURRED AFTER A COMPLETE FAST ON THE RETURN OF HUNGER WHEN THE BODIES FOOD RESERVES WERE DEPLETED AND BEFORE STARVATION SET IN.
APPETITE RETURNS FAIRLY QUICKLY THOUGH ON THE BREAKING OF SHORTER FASTS BUT SELF-RESTRAINT IS NEEDED NOT TO OVEREAT THEREAFTER.
"What are your thoughts on that, can you eat more salad? Don't eat, or just in general curb your calories to 800 or so because of the slowed metabolism."
MY ADVICE ON THIS (WHICH I AM SURE FONTY WILL AGREE WITH) IS TO EAT PLENTY OF HIGH-WATER CONTENT FOOD (FRUITS & SALAD VEGETABLES) AFTER A PROPORTIONATE AMOUNT OF TIME DEPENDING ON THE LENGTH OF THE FAST. THESE FOODS ARE LOW CALORIE.
THERE IS AN OLD SAYING WITH EATING GENERALLY......YOU SHOULD FEEL THAT YOU COULD EAT A LITTLE MORE AFTER EVERY MEAL.....IN OTHER WORDS......DO NOT OVEREAT. THIS WAS ONE OF THE MAIN MESSAGES IN THE NATURAL HYGIENE BOOKS FIT FOR LIFE "LIVING HEALTH" BY HARVEY & MARILYN DIAMOND.
What was your experience if I may ask?
I DID NOT TAKE MY FASTS TO COMPLETION AND I ADHERED TO THE ABOVE ADVICE.
HOPE THAT HELPS.
Regards
Chris
