Re: 10 day fast..
I would give yourself more time to recover before eating cooked food of any description. After a long term fast the digestion system really does shut down completely and needs time to restart, so to speak. In the recovery period it is important to eat soft, juicy foods, fruit being the perfect choice. Trying to force a cooked food meal through a 'rusty, unused' system can cause more than a little physical discomfort as I know from personal experience. On my first long term fast I did exactly what you are suggesting, I broke the fast properly on the first day but gave in to cravings on the second day thinking that as long as I only at healthy meals it would be okay. Ideally for a long term fast like you are suggesting I would eat fruit and juices for the first five days after then add raw salad vegetables and from there gradually add small amounts of cooked foods to the salad each day till the ten day recovery period is up.
If you have to go to this dinner I would make the fast shorter and if the dinner still falls in the recovery period make sure you order a large salad to go with your meal to help soften the load on your system.
You may get away with it, but with my experience I wouldn't try anything like that again myself, I will adhere to the recovery period religiously.
