Being up here in Canada, I was thrilled to find young coconuts at my supermarket last week. They did have a couple of brown spots starting up (like bruises), but I took them anyway to try them. However, we were going away for the weekend, so I put them in the fridge.
When I finally managed to break into one of them, using a straw to drink the milk, I found it to have an earthy aftertaste -- is this what it's supposed to taste like? I liked it except for that aftertaste -- so, I am thinking that perhaps they are past their best. What do you think?
