PH of our stomach...

Hi Grzbear:
I have a question. The ph RANGE of our stomach is 1-3.5

~~Gastric secretion 1.0-3.5

So basically, our stomach was desgined to be the most acidic part of our body.
It was desgined to kill most pathogens, which might be entering our bodies.

Hence, although we DO want to alkalise our blood/urine/saliva etc, we should not consume strongly alakalne salts like bicarbonates, hydroxides ( Ca(OH)2, Mg(OH)2 etc) as these alkaline/basic salts will neutralise the stomach acids, which will weaken the stomach. Would it not make sense to get our minerals from neutral salts which will not neutralise the stomach acids? Arn't anta-acids harmful is taken long term.?

I speak this from experience, as baking soda caused some problems for me. Of course, just cleaning teeth with BS should be fine, as long as it is not coming in contact with our stomachs...
