Re: To PB3046...

Still sounds like liver/sun/age spots to me! Go back and read my post regarding lipofuscin.

Now if you just want to lighten them, you can do that with applying lemon juice to them every day, or by using hydroquinone, which is a bleaching creme you get at the drugstore. It is over the counter, mostly found in the ethnic African American products. Ask an employee if you can't find it. I have a dark Hispanic friend who used it and said it worked for him to lighten his face.

One of the writers of the following article has his own forum here on CZ:

Natural Age/Liver Spot Remedy
contributed by Tony Isaacs and Ben Taylor

These spots are a result of the build up of wastes known as lipofuscin accumulation, a byproduct of free radical damage to skin cells. Although these brown spots in themselves are harmless, they can be a sign of more serious underlying problems. These spots are actually signs that cells are full of the type of wastes that slowly destroy the body’s cells, including brain and liver cells. They are a surface sign of free radical intoxication of the body that may affect many internal structures as well, including the heart muscle and the retina.

There are many factors that lead to the forming of age spots, including poor diet, inadequate liver function, smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, the ingestion of oxidized oils over a period of time, and excessive exposure to the sun. Most people who have significant numbers of age spots have had excessive sun exposure. The formation of lipofuscin is also associated with a deficiency of a number of important nutrients, including chromium, selenium, glutathione, vitamin E, and dimethyl aminoethanol (DMAE). Alcohol consumption in particular increases lipofuscin formation. One study found that animals fed alcohol had twice the amount of lipofuscin on their brain cells as animals not given alcohol in the control group.

• Plant derived minerals are used in some of the cosmetic industry’s high end cosmetics. Utopia Naturals Soaps are made with plant derived minerals, aloe vera and Colloidal Silver or Colloidal Gold .

• Apply vitamin E oil directly to age spots daily to reduce coloration of age spots

• The white milk or sap from a fig or a fig leaf is an old folk remedy used to remove age spots, warts, and skin cancer.

HERBS

• Burdock, milk thistle, and red clover aid in cleansing the bloodstream.

• Ginkgo biloba improves circulation and is a potent antioxidant.

• Emu oil has shown good results on brown spots.

• Other herbs beneficial for age spots include ginseng, green tea, and licorice.

Caution: Ginseng and licorice can elevate blood pressure. Do not use them if you have high blood pressure.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• Limit sun exposure.

• Do a liver cleanse in conjunction with a Colon Cleanse or a whole body cleanse. A properly functioning liver and a clean colon are important.

• Do a fasting program to cleanse the liver and rid the body of toxins.

• Avoid caffeine, fried foods, saturated fats, red meat, processed foods, sugar, and tobacco.

• Diet high in vegetable protein, consisting of 50 percent raw vegetables and fruits, plus fresh grains, cereals, seeds, and nuts.

• Abstain from animal protein from the diet for at least one month.

• Apply lemon juice morning and night, but discontinue if there is sign of irritation.

• Cleanse your skin with pure olive oil and a warm wet washcloth, and then rinse with lemon juice and water. Do not use cleansing creams, especially hydrogenated, hardened creams.

• Use black radish extract or dandelion root and beet juice along with three days of fasting a month with distilled water and fresh lemon, fruit, and vegetable juices.

I think the cleansing program shows sun spot reduction or elimination in about 6 months. I know one summer some years ago I seemed to get a bunch of them on one forearm. I have done a lot of detox and there are only two tiny ones left, barely noticeable. My spots were originally like dark freckles but here is an image of sun spots. There is another image at the health pictures link. You also can google liver spots or age spots.

I know in your previous post someone suggesting cutting, or inserting a needle. I believe they were referring to raised moles, and IMO would not apply to sun spots.
